Taleo Unveils Talent Management Solution for Small and Mid-Sized Organizations and Staffing Firms
Worldwide Leader in Talent Management Solutions for Large Enterprises Now Helps Smaller Companies Optimize Their Workforces With

SAN FRANCISCO and HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Taleo Corporation, the world's leading provider of on-demand talent management solutions, today unveiled its new, on-demand staffing management solution for small and mid-sized organizations from its fourth annual Taleo WORLD Users Conference in Huntington Beach, CA. Taleo Business Edition offers on-demand talent management for small and mid-sized organizations.

"Taleo has led the talent management solutions industry for large organizations during the past five years," said Taleo CEO Michael Gregoire. "We are now taking all of the knowledge we have gained in working with these large enterprises and distilling it into our solution for small and mid-sized organizations. We will help them reap the same benefits in reducing costs and 'administrivia,' and driving value through talent management that our large enterprise customers enjoy."

Taleo recently acquired Recruitforce.com, which provides the technology for its new solution. Based on this acquisition, Taleo Business Edition begins with more than 100 customers in 30 countries. The technology behind Taleo Business Edition includes an open standards-based, Web Services API that allows developers to build integration solutions and custom applications that leverage candidate and requisition data. Now, even small businesses can easily integrate Taleo Business Edition with their existing applications, such as HR, Finance and Payroll systems. Taleo hired all of the employees of Recruitforce.com. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

"We had been approached by a number of potential suitors but only Taleo presented an extremely compelling opportunity to grow and scale the business quickly," said Matt Robinson, founder of Recruitforce.com. "We are extremely pleased to join the global leader in talent management solutions, and look forward to accelerating the adoption of Taleo Business Edition throughout small and mid-market companies worldwide."

Similar to the Taleo Enterprise Talent Management Suite of Solutions, Taleo Business Edition is a purely web-based subscription service, so there is no traditional software to buy, install, upgrade or maintain. Taleo Business Edition allows recruiters and HR generalists to try online, buy online and start working with this staffing management software within hours to save time, costs and better match individuals to jobs. Generally organizations with up to 5,000 employees and departments or divisions of larger companies will benefit most from Taleo Business Edition.

Taleo Business Edition can be implemented two different ways. First, it can be purchased online, as a self service system for small recruiting groups; secondly, it can be purchased with more robust services, such as HRIS integration, to meet the needs of organizations that may have more demanding staffing needs, yet still are not as complex as those served by the Taleo Enterprise Talent Management Suite of Solutions. Typically, such organizations will also want to "try before they buy," and yet benefit from a more structured review of their staffing management processes before implementation.

"Small and mid-sized organizations are attracted to on-demand software for recruitment because they want to be able to get up and running quickly at a lower start up cost," said James Holincheck, research vice president, HR applications, Gartner. "In addition, these organizations have fewer resources, IT and otherwise, than their larger counterparts, so they value the maintenance and support services provided by on demand software vendors."

WebEx Communications, Inc. Director, Staffing & Development Susan Welch said, "We were one of the first Recruitforce.com customers and we have been extremely pleased with the ease of use and functionality of the solutions, and our relationship with the company. We are excited to see the company gain such great backing and resources with Taleo."
