HACKENSACK, New Jersey, May 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ness Technologies, Inc. , a global provider of information technology (IT) services and solutions, today announced that the company is working with IBM to provide independent software vendors (ISVs) with re-platforming services, enabling them to migrate existing applications to open standards-based IBM platforms and to stay current with IBM platform changes. Ness Technologies will serve as an extended delivery arm of IBM and go-to partner for execution of re-platforming projects. Ness will also market its re-platforming services jointly with IBM and the two companies will cooperate in this area. Ness Technologies has recently established its IBM Re-Platforming Center of Competence (IRCC) which leverages its substantial porting, migration and testing expertise and experience, as well as its offshore facilities, to help ISVs reduce migration costs and accelerate time-to-market. The new IRCC is part of Ness's Managed Labs division. Through its Managed Labs division, Ness currently houses more than 20 ISV extended labs in India that have in-depth experience in product R&D and re-platforming services. As part of the new re-platforming services, Ness can help ISVs transform their solutions to service oriented architecture (SOA), migrate databases to IBM DB2 Information Management software, and port, test and certify on the IBM open-standards technology stack. "Ness and IBM are working together to meet the demands of ISVs that see the value of open standards-based software and hardware technology," said Mark Hanny, Vice President, ISV & Developer Relations, IBM. "We're pleased to see companies like Ness building an environment that can help ISVs rapidly port to IBM and open standards-based solutions." "The new agreement marks another milestone in the relationship between the two companies," said Shashank Samant, President of Ness Managed Strategic Services. "Ness Technologies works with IBM around the world to offer a broad array of scalable solutions built on IBM software and hardware platforms. In addition, Ness has supplier agreements with IBM for services, software and hardware."
