SYS-CON Media's Wireless Business & Technology Magazine Tracking to Be the Best Selling New Title on the Newsstands
SYS-CON Media Buys All Assets of Wireless Business & Technology from Phillips International, Including 43,000 New Subscribers an

Montvale, NJ, February 21, 2001 - SYS-CON Media (www.sys-con.com) announced today the results of newsstand sales of the premier issue of Wireless Business & Technology (www.wbt2.com) as of 26 days from the on-sale date. According to the data obtained from Curtis Circulation Company, SYS-CON's national distributor and the largest magazine distributor in the world, WBT's average sales of the premier issue stand at 87.7%. The net sales breakdown for specialty stores, such as Borders, Barnes & Noble and others, remains at 91.4%, Canada at 87.4% and foreign at 99.8%.

"These are very strong numbers for a new launch in today's market," reported Brian Gregory, a leading newsstand sales consultant and president of Gregory Associates (BJGAssociates@cs.com). "According to the market data we are gathering, newsstand sales are at their worst for the past decade. Under these market conditions, the WBT launch of January 2001 seems to be an impressive success."

"We are extremely happy with the strong acceptance of WBT in the marketplace with its first issue," said Jeremy Geelan, founding editor and editorial director of WBT. "Wireless Business & Technology is the first magazine on the newsstands exclusively covering the wireless markets. We are committed to make WBT the leading magazine and the industry standard for wireless technologies."

SYS-CON Media also announced today the purchase of all assets of the magazine with the same name from Phillips International under an undisclosed financial arrangement. SYS-CON will integrate readership from Phillips to SYS-CON's WBT. Phillips' title was audited by BPA, and more than 43,000 subscribers will be offered subscriptions to Wireless Business & Technology.

Wireless Business & Technology has been named exclusive print media sponsor of Penton Media's Internet World Wireless 2001 Conference and Expo (www.pentonevents.com/wireless2001/) which opened today. SYS-CON Radio will bring the live coverage of the Conference from the show floor. The Conference exhibit floor remains open today and tomorrow at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City.
