Early Bird for Cloud Expo Santa Clara! At the 5th Cloud Expo, Surgient announced a preview of its new Enterprise Cloud Dashboard, which for the first time gives cloud administrators immediate, comprehensive insight into the infrastructure, services, and users active in the private cloud. "With our new Enterprise Cloud Dashboard, the administrator is now able to see a live map of the entire private cloud infrastructure, including running services and their relationships with each other," said Dave Malcolm, CTO of Surgient. "This new level of cloud insight will greatly improve the productivity of cloud administrators, enabling them to see exactly who's using the enterprise cloud infrastructure and for what." No longer is capacity management a static, backward-looking activity that relies on estimations to predict future resource needs. With Surgient, private cloud administrators graphically and dynamically manage cloud capacity in real time to ensure that resources, such as virtual machines (VMs) and hardware capacity, are in line with usage demands. Additionally, the platform's unique capacity management technology allows administrators to see future resource reservations, giving them an exact, reliable picture of how and when the infrastructure will be used over time. Key capabilities of the platform and new dashboard include:
"One of the vendors best positioned to benefit from the transition to infrastructure cloud computing and evolution of the virtualization ecosystem is Surgient, in our view," said Philip Rueppel, Senior Analyst of Wells Fargo Securities Equities Research. "In fact, while many of the next-generation virtualization management milestones are still in front of many technology companies, Surgient's platform already incorporates a great deal of the required functionality to morph today's virtual environments into full infrastructure clouds."
