Pete Malcolm, CEO of Abiquo, is presenting what he promises to be a vendor-neutral keynote, to open the final day of the Fifth International Cloud Expo, being held at the Javits Center in New York. Abiquo said his keynote will be a place "where you will learn about the next chapter in the Virtualization story. What it is, what it means, why open standards are key, and most importantly, how it will revolutionize the way your organization manages IT." "The last decade saw the growth of Virtualization from its humble beginnings as a developer tool to its increasing adoption in data centers worldwide," he says. "It dramatically improved resilience, scalability, portability and utilization, and became one of the key foundations of the Cloud."
Pete Malcolm is the inventor of the term “Resource Cloud”, a concept which provides complete separation between physical infrastructure providers and virtual enterprise consumers, with substantial benefits to both. Malcolm was previously founder and CTO of Orchestria, Benchmark Capital’s first European Entrepreneur-in-Residence, and a Senior Vice President with CA, Inc. Cloud Expo's final day will also feature sessions devoted to SaaS, Cloud Management, Complexity, Standards, Encryption, and many other topics. As delegates head home, they can contemplate two more Cloud Expo events coming this year: The Sixth International Cloud Expo in Prague June 21-22, and the Seventh International Cloud Expo in Santa Clara November 1-3.
